Liatris spicata, also known as bottlebrush or prairie candle, is a striking perennial with upright flower spikes full of purple-pink flowers that bloom from top to bottom. This unique flowering form makes the plant a real eye-catcher in borders, prairie plantings, and natural gardens. Liatris spicata prefers a sunny location and well-drained soil, is low-maintenance, and very hardy. Additionally, it attracts many bees and butterflies and provides vertical structure and long-lasting summer color in the garden.
