Symphytum grandiflorum is a strong, fast-growing perennial with large, rough green leaves and striking, creamy yellow to light yellow flowers that appear early in spring. This plant is highly suitable as a ground cover in semi-shady to shady borders, under shrubs, and in natural gardens, where it quickly forms dense ground cover and suppresses weeds. Symphytum grandiflorum grows best in moist, humus-rich, and well-drained soil and is low-maintenance, hardy, and particularly valuable for early insects.
