Shrub Appearance:
- The Camellia japonica 'Black Lace' is a beautiful evergreen shrub with dark, glossy green leaves. The leaves are oval-shaped with a slightly serrated edge, which provides a lush contrast with the striking flowers.
- The flowers are deep red to almost black, with velvety petals that live up to the name 'Black Lace'. They bloom profusely in late winter to early spring.
- This Camellia thrives in partial to full shade, in a sheltered spot in the garden or on a patio. Avoid direct midday sun to protect the flowers.
- Regular watering is necessary, especially during the growth and flowering period. Keep the soil moist but well-drained, and avoid allowing the shrub to sit in standing water.
