Corten steel is a metal alloy consisting of iron to which copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium have been added. When exposed to the outdoors, the material is coated with a protective layer of rust. This natural rust layer protects against further corrosion. This gives the planter a long lifespan.

Corten steel planters are very strong, wear-resistant, weather-resistant, low-maintenance, and durable.
The standard material thickness of the corten steel is 3 mm. Other material thicknesses are also possible.
Very suitable for large plants or trees. Thanks to the bottomless planter, these can take root in the garden.
Customization is possible.
Products are supplied unrusted. The rusting process of corten steel takes approximately 4-5 months, depending on the weather conditions.
Rust can be fixed by applying Owatrol. This is a penetrating anti-rust agent that forms a protective layer against rust. Owatrol protects the planter and prevents the corten steel from staining.

Important points:

Products should be unpacked immediately upon receipt so that any moisture is not trapped between the packaging and the product. This can cause irregular rust stains.
Ensure good drainage.
Do not use an overflow pipe; excess water should not remain in the corten steel planter. The material can then rust through due to a combination of oxygen and soil.
Do not use hydra granules: they retain moisture.
We recommend against using Corten steel within 2 km of a coastline.
During the rusting process, rust water may leak from the product.
The warranty will be void if you drill or grind in a manner not specified.

PLANTATION ADVICE:

Fill the container with a layer of pebbles Ø35 mm (approx. 10 cm).
Place a permeable root barrier cloth over the pebbles.
Cover the root barrier cloth with soil suitable for your type of planting.
