The BOCCA corten steel planter gives gardens a powerful and warm appearance. This is due to the orange-brown color of the material, which forms due to a natural rust layer. Another name for Corten steel is weather-resistant steel: weather conditions have a positive effect on this planter.

Corten steel is a metal alloy consisting of iron, to which copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium have been added. When exposed to the outdoors, the material is coated with a protective layer of rust. This natural rust layer protects against further corrosion, giving the planter a long lifespan.

Corten steel planters are very strong, wear-resistant, weather-resistant, low-maintenance, and durable.
The standard material thickness of Corten steel is 4 mm.
Products are delivered unrusted. The rusting process of Corten steel takes approximately 4-5 months, depending on the weather conditions.
Rust can be fixed by applying Owatrol. This is a penetrating anti-rust agent that forms a protective layer against rust. Owatrol protects the planter and prevents the corten steel from staining.

Important points:

Products should be unpacked immediately upon receipt so that any moisture is not trapped between the packaging and the product. This can cause irregular rust stains.
Ensure good drainage.
Do not use an overflow pipe; excess water should not remain in the corten steel planter. The material can then rust through due to a combination of oxygen and soil.
Do not use hydro grains: they retain moisture.
We recommend against using Corten steel within a 2 km radius of a coastline.
During the rusting process, rust water may be released from the product.

PLANTATION ADVICE:

Provide a layer of Ø35 mm pebbles (approx. 10 cm) at the bottom.
Lay a permeable root barrier fabric over the pebbles.
Cover the root barrier fabric with soil suitable for your type of planting.
Do not use an overflow pipe; No water should remain in the corten steel planter.
