This Corten steel planter gives gardens a powerful, stylish, and warm appearance. This is due to the orange-brown color of the material, which is formed by a natural rust layer. Another name for Corten steel is weathering steel: weather conditions actually have a positive influence on this planter.

Corten steel is a metal alloy consisting of iron, to which copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium have been added. When exposed to the open air, the material becomes covered with a protective layer of rust. This natural rust layer forms the protection against further corrosion. As a result, the planter has a long lifespan.

• Corten steel planters are very strong, wear-resistant, weatherproof, low-maintenance, and durable.

• Includes recessed wheels and drainage holes. This ensures that the planter floats slightly above the ground (15 mm) and has optimal drainage.

• Easy to move thanks to the wheels. Please note! The load-bearing capacity is 450 kg per wheel.

• Standard material thickness of the Corten steel is 2 mm. Other material thicknesses are also possible.

• Custom sizes are available.

• Products are delivered unrusted. The rusting process of Corten steel takes about 4-5 months, depending on weather conditions.

• The rust can be fixed by applying Owatrol. This is a penetrating anti-rust agent that forms a protective layer against the rust. Owatrol protects the planter and ensures that the Corten steel stops rubbing off or leaching.

Important points of attention:

• Products must be unpacked immediately upon receipt, so that any moisture between the packaging and the product does not remain trapped. This can cause irregular rust stains.

• Ensure proper drainage.

• Do not use an overflow pipe; no excess water should remain inside the Corten steel planter. A combination of oxygen and soil can cause the material to rust through.

• Do not use hydro granules (clay pebbles): these retain moisture.

• We advise against using Corten steel within a 2 km radius of a coastline.

• During the rusting process, rust water may run off the product.

Planting advice:

• Provide the bottom with a layer of pebbles of Ø35 mm grading (approx. 10 cm).

• Place a water-permeable root barrier fabric over the pebbles.

• Cover the root barrier fabric with soil suitable for your type of planting.

• Do not use an overflow pipe: no water should remain inside the Corten steel planter.
